What are Electronic Cigarettes?
An Electronic cigarette (aka e-cigarettes, e-cigs, Personal Vaporizer) is a small battery powered device that can be considered a alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes. Electronic cigarettes can look and function very similarly to cigarettes. The electronic cigarette vaporizes the e-liquid inside the cartridge or cartomizer into vapor, which then the user can inhale.
The vapor resembles smoke and dissipates very clearly. It is odorless and without any tar and does not leave build up on surfaces and fabrics/ Electronic cigarettes where designed to fill both the psychological ( action of smoking or inhaling) and chemical (nicotine) hole that traditional cigarettes have developed but without the smell and toxic chemicals like tar, carbon monoxide and thousands of other chemicals.
Electronic cigarettes do not give off 1st hand or 2nd hand smoke, do not contain tobacco, tar, carbon monoxide or any of the other 4000+ toxic chemicals that make up a tobacco cigarette.
Electronic cigarettes will usually consist of one 2 types:
3 Pieces. Cartridge, Atomizer, and Battery:
The cartridge includes the mouth piece, inner cartridge, and cartridge material. The mouth piece is the part you inhale from. When you remove the mouth piece from the atomizer, you will see the inner cartridge and the white stuffing that the liquid goes in. This is where you refill the cartridge.
The batteries on your PV are Lithium-Ion. All the information you could possibly want and more can be found at http://www.batteryuniversity.com/ . Charging a battery usually takes from 2-4 hours depending on battery size and power source, charging a battery is faster when plugged to the wall vs plugged to a usb port on your computer
The atomizer is the heating element that vaporizes the liquid in the cartridge. Please read the maintenance section for ways to keep your atomizer clean and healthy.
Or
It Consists of 2 pieces. Cartomizer ( atomizer and cartridge combined into a disposable unit and Battery)
The cartomizer includes the mouth piece, inner cartomizer, and cartomizer filler material and the heating element that vaporizes the liquid. The mouth piece is the part you inhale from. When you remove the mouth piece from the cartomizer, you will see the inner cartomizer and the white stuffing that the liquid goes in. This is where you refill the cartomizer.

What is e-liquid?
E-liquid (also known as e-juice) is the liquid that your electronic cigarette vaporizes to produce the vapor. The ingredients in E-liquids are:
The e-liquid is available in a variety of nicotine concentrations ( from 0mg to 36mg) in a very large variety of flavors. A typical user of e-cigs will usually consume around 1-2ml of e-liquid per day. Note that this is only the usage for a typical user, it will vary depending on person to person and how much the said person will vape in a given day
What should I order to get started?
Generally it is recommended to get a complete electronic cigarette kit and at the minimum of one bottle of e-liquid to get started
A complete electronic cigarette kit contains all the parts required for vaping ( with the exception of e-liquid)- atomizers and cartridges or cartomizers, 2 batteries a charger and a adapter. Spare parts for these can also be purchased but are not required.
As for the selection of e-liquid, it may seem quite overwhelming at first for a first time buyer, as there are literally hundreads if not thousands of different variations of e-liquids each with there own little twist on flavor and aroma. Discovering the e-liquid that is best suited for you can be a fun and interesting adventure. Most people will start with a familiar tobacco flavor, as it is the closest to smoking traditional cigarettes in taste.
E-cigarette does have the distinct advantage of been offered in a incredible variety of flavors. Chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, caramel, pepermint, coffee, tobacco, drinks, liquors a mix of a couple flavors... and the list goes on. There is always something new to experience, not only that but at a fraction of the cost traditional cigarettes would have cost you.
How long will my Electronic Cigarette last?
Rechargable Li-ion batteries are rated for around 200 - 300 charge cycles. The life span of your electronic cigarette depends on how often that model requires charging. The life span of your e-cig depend on the mah rating and how often it is used. The higher the mah rating on your e-cig the bigger it is and the longer it will last in between charges. A 510, for example, needs to be charged every 3 to 4 hours. It is small and compact and very popular. A eGo on the other hand, requires charging every 12 to 14 hours of use. It is bigger and a bit heavier but generally will last you all day.
Other kits such as the Lavatube/KnightRider can 24 to 36 hours between charges - so they can last up to 300 full days. These are "mod" kits. While they are significantly larger than a standard ecig - they do have unique features than many people really like. Do not that using LR ( low resistance) or DC ( Dual coil) atomizers or cartomizers will decrease the lifespan and in make your e-cig last less time in between charges as they require a higher drain from the batteries.
After more than 200 charges, the battery will not hold its charge as long. At this point, you should order a replacement battery.
Battery models have 2 ratings - mAh and Voltage. The higher the mAh - the longer that battery will operate between charges. A 510 is 180 - 200 mAh. A eGo 650 mAh.- 1100mah. Higher mAh batteries are considered "mods". Higher voltage batteries will give greater vapor but will also weigh more and require more upkeep.
Atomizers - need to be replaced more frequently. Some users have reported getting 6 months or more usage from one and others only a few weeks or months. Realistically, a standard atomizer will last 4 - 8 weeks. There are dozens of atomizer models. Each model type gives a slightly different character to the amount of vapor and flavor. Atomizers will require regular maintenance and cleaning to keep them at peak performance
Cartridges - Will usually last all the way till you break them, can pretty much last indefinetly until then.
Cartomizers - have a limited life span - usually 5-8 refills per cartomizer. Large cartomizers are sold individually, small cartomizers are sold in 5 packs. Cartomizers are used in place of atomizers and cartridges. The advantages of a cartomizer is that due to its disposable nature they are priced much cheaper then atomizers and are overall very inexpensive.
Charging Cords and a/c adaptors - will usually outlast every part of your kit - providing you take care of it. If you live in an area known for power surges - your charger will be affected and possibly your battery. For this reason - it is recommended that you use a surge protector. Once you've chosen to use an e-cig more permanently, you can grab a few spare chargers, a car charger - even a charging case (carries your parts and charges your batteries on the go).
Low Vapor – What To Do:
The most common reason for low vapor is not enough liquid in the cartridge or cartomizer. If you are getting low vapor or a slight burnt taste from your e-cig, just remove the cartridge and drip 2-3 drops of liquid in the cartridge/cartomizer.
Dripping is when you put 1-2 drops of liquid directly on the atomizer. This is only recommended on the batteries with the manual switch as you may get liquid in the battery with the automatic unit. All 510’s come with two manual batteries by default.
Topping of is when you drip 2-3 drops onto the cartridge/cartomizer material.
This is when you completely refill a cartridge/cartomizer. This is made much easier with the use of a syringe. Vaporus only uses blunt needles for your safety.
How Long Does A Cart last:
Carts last anywhere from 100-500 puffs. It really depends on how long a puff you take and the size of the cart itself.
Initial Bad Taste:
When you first use your electronic cigarette, you may experience a not so nice taste. This is a result of a primer fluid that the manufacturer puts in the atomizer to ensure you don’t dry vape the device and harm the unit. The primer fluid should vape off in a short period of time, and the full flavor of the liquid will come to the fore front.
Why Does My Battery Blink:
When your battery on your e-cigs needs to be charged, it will blink a few times.
Why Should I Buy A USB Pass-through:
When using a USB pass-through, it draws its power from a desktop or laptop USB port so you don’t have to worry about running out of battery power. You can vape on your pass-throught ecig for as long as you want.
Dual coils:
Dual coil cartomizer are simply cartomizers with 2 heating coil elements instead of one to share the workload. A rating of 1.5ohm would be 2 x 3.0ohm coils. We do not suggest you use Dual coils on any batteries with a rating below 900mah as the drain to the battery may be to high and it can damage or shorten the lifespan of your battery.
