IF YOU ARE NEW TO E-cigs....
E-cigs are not as easy to use as cigarettes that you just pick up and light up( it is a ton more fun and better thou), it is a high tech device and should be treated as such. There is a small learning curve to it, maintenance and a lot of different options. The good news is that most people learn very quickly.
To Begin you will need 2 essential things - a e-cigs starter kit (a complete kit) and eliquid. The SMK510 starter kit and the V3vapors starter kit are the most common and easiest to use starter kits. They both come with all the parts you need for 2 complete electronic cigarettes. The SMK510 starter kit comes with both a automatic and manual battery while the V3vapors comes in automatic only.
Choosing a Starter Kit
1) The SMK510 starter kit is cigarette sized. It comes with 2 batteries and each will last 3 - 4 hours before you need to recharge it. This kit was made for starters and come with both a automatic and a manual battery. It requires frequent recharges. The main advantage of this kit is that it uses 510 threading making for a easy upgrade path to a ego or anything with a 510 connection. Do not that we do not recommend you put any LR rated below 2.0ohm or dual coil cartomizer or atomizers in these, these batteries cannot handle the hihg drain that LR and dual coils will need and may end up destroying your batteries.
2) The V3vapors starter kit is cigarette sized. It comes with 2 batteries and each will last around 3-4 before you need to recharge it. This kit features all the latest advances :the Horizontal bottom coil design, sealed automatic batteries (so that leaked e-liquid doesn't ruin your batteries) and regulated voltage ( making for a constant vapor production). It is our top of the line cigarette sized e-cigs. Threading on these are 808d-1. Just like the 510s it requires frequent recharges, but these are also offered with pcc( personal charging cases) to recharge the batteries on the go.
3) the eGo kits - come with 2 batteries and each will last 8 to 10 hours before needing to be recharged. These units are larger than a typical cigarette and come in manual styles only. Leaning curve on using these is slightly higher then the auto batteries but give the user more control over vapor production. Recommended for heavy smokers that do not want to carry around multiple e-cigs or charging cases.
3) The Lavatube/KnightRider VV mod is slightly more specialized. The variable voltage mode give experienced users the choice on customizing the amount of vapor produced by these units. While beginners can be quite comfortable with them. Specialized units offer greater amounts of vapor, different flavor experiences and longer periods between charges.
Eliquid
E-liquid is what is been vaporized by your e-cigs to produce the vapor. A average smoker will use anywhere from 1 ml to 3 ml of e-juice a day. E-Liquid are sold in bottles of 10 or 30ml and offer a variety of flavors and nicotine concentrations. It is recommended you start off with a few choices of 10ml bottles to test the tastes and and find your own favorite e-juice.
There are many different types of flavors - tobacco flavor, fruit, drink and specialized. Individual tastes vary greatly and can change. E-liquids can be mixed together to blend them to a new taste.
Cartridges, Atomizers and Cartomizers
Each kit comes with it's own cartomizers or cartridges and atomizers, or they can be ordered as spare parts. Cartridges, atomizers and cartomizers are the part of the e-cigs that produces vapor. The electronic cigarettes is still a fairly new technology and over the past year there has been significant new developments in technology for it - this is most noticable been in new types of cartridges, atomizers and cartomizers.
Cartomizers and Clearomizers
Cartomizers/ clearomizers is basicly the combination of both the cartridge and atomizer into one single disposable unit. They carry more liquid an greatly enhance the flavor. Different cartomizer/clearomizers have there own filling methods. Cartomizers are disposable units and can be refilled for around 5-8 times before needing ether cleaning and maintenance or been disposed of. Do note that cartomizers are priced like disposable units and are much less expensive compared to atomizers.
Round / Flat Tip Standard Cartridges and Atomizers
Standard cartridges are plugged into a bridge atomizer. The cartridges contain a poly filling that can be removed and cleaned. The poly filling holds the eliquid and drips it onto the atomizer bridge. While easy to use, poly-filled cartridges need to be kept full.
Tankomizers and Tank Cartridges
The latest in ecig technology. Tankomizers are atomizers with pins instead of a bridge. Tank Cartridges are made of clear plastic and do not contain any filler. They are filled by pouring liquid directly into the cartridge and capping it with a small plug. The tankomizer and tank cartridge work together to give a very smooth flavor, excellent vapor and near perfect ease of use throughout the day. Tank cartridges can be washed and reused until they are broken (or run over. lost, put in a washing machine, etc).
DCT TANKS
DCT tanks came features all the advantages of the cartomizers but wraped it all around a clear tank system that will refill the cartomizer from a hole punched near the bottom of the cartomizer. Easy to use, and you know exactly when your low of e-juice. Look wise some might not feel comfortable carrying this around and some simply love it.
